This Privacy Policy explains how Helix Kitchens ("Helix Kitchens," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use our mobile application and website.

By using the app, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

2. Information We Collect

Account information — when you create an account, we collect:

  • First Name
  • Last Name
  • Email Address
  • Password (encrypted)
  • Kitchen Name

User-generated content — we collect information you provide, including:

  • Inventory batches (name, quantity, category, storage type, expiry date)
  • Recipes, ingredients, and allergen tags
  • Supplier details
  • Sales and stock usage records
  • Staff tasks and permissions

3. How We Use Information

We use your information to:

  • Create and manage user accounts
  • Enable login and authentication
  • Manage inventory, recipes, suppliers, sales, and staff tasks
  • Allow collaboration between staff within a kitchen
  • Improve app functionality
  • Provide support

4. Kitchen & Staff Management

If you are an Owner:

  • You can invite staff via email
  • Assign roles (Manager / Staff)
  • Remove staff

Invited staff members' email addresses are stored to manage access.

5. Data Storage & Security

Passwords are encrypted. Data is stored on Supabase with encryption in transit and at rest, and access is scoped by your role and kitchen so you and your organisation can only read and write the data your permissions allow.

However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure.

6. Data Sharing

We do not sell or rent your personal information.

We may share data with:

  • Service providers for hosting or analytics
  • Apple App Store / Google Play, for subscription billing
  • Legal authorities, if required by law

7. Data Retention

We retain your account data as long as your account is active.

If you delete your account, we retain your data for 30 days in case you change your mind and want to restore it, after which it is permanently deleted, except where legally required to retain it. See Account Deletion for the exact steps and what gets removed.

8. User Rights

Depending on your region, you may have the right to:

  • Access your data
  • Correct your data
  • Request deletion
  • Withdraw consent

9. Children's Privacy

Helix Kitchens is a business tool for kitchen staff and is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

The app may use third-party services including:

  • Apple App Store / Google Play, for subscription billing

We are not responsible for third-party privacy practices.
